And I’m basically at the end. Just wrapping up the last bits, and then this sucktastic piece of crapitude* will be done.

Then it can ferment for a while until I’m ready to face revisions.

I’m going to try and not look at it for 6 weeks, so that when I start revisions it’s like a new book. Normally I get too impatient to wait out the entire time, but really, this year is an experiment in focusing on one work only. On the upside, I should get through a goodly part of my TBR pile.

*This is par for the course with first drafts. The thing only becomes coherent and readable after it has been slapped around a bit.
